People may not know the name "Wanda's Waffles", but if you say "The waffle place near Ryerson that you can smell a mile away", everyone would know what you are talking about.  I don't know how they do it, but they smell SO SO SO good.  All their waffles are made fresh to the order (yes, they have a mini fridge with the dough all prepared, and they plop it in the waffle maker when you order).  Seriously, that dough is probably like 1500 calories or something (it tastes so dense and buttery)... but trust me its quite worth it (I do suggest sharing because it is quite heavy).

It is my first time sitting in and having the waffles with ice cream, and to be honest, I thought it tasted better without the ice cream because it made it way too heavy.  The waffle is extremely crunchy on the outside, and warm and moist in the inside (if you're into the light and fluffy ones.. this may not be your thing).  The guy serving us that night was EXTREMELY friendly, and suggested pairing the waffles with French Vanilla and chocolate syrup as it is the best combo (since the French Vanilla has the purest taste outta all the other choices).  Although I rather have the pistachio or cookies and cream flavour instead, I took his recommendation and I was very glad because the sweetness in the ice cream wasn't overbearing so I could still taste the buttery flavour in the waffle.

The dessert place has two stations, one for crepes and the other for waffles (the crepes were much more expensive than the waffles.. not sure why).  The atmosphere of the place is more a "Fast-dessert" style, where you wont want to get a coffee and chat with a friend (which is fine because they don't charge you for tips to serve you although they do bring you your food when its ready).

In summary, if you've never tried these Belgian waffles, you totally need to.  If its part of a romantic date... its great because you'll want to share the waffles, but the atmosphere is definitely not the best.
